How it works

Tap to call, without typing

The code holds a tel: link with your number. Phones recognize it and offer to call, so nobody has to type a long number and risk a wrong digit.

Good uses:

  • Posters, flyers and "for sale" signs.
  • Business cards and shop windows.
  • Packaging and manuals: a code for the support line.
  • Vehicles and equipment: who to call in an emergency.

To share your full contact details at once, use a vCard QR code.

Frequently asked questions

Does scanning the code start a call?

No. The phone shows the number with a Call button, so the person decides whether to call. Nothing happens without that tap.

Which number format should I use?

The international format with the country code, such as +44 20 7946 0958 or +1 202 555 0143, works from any country. Spaces and dashes are fine; they are removed in the code.

Can I use it for a landline?

Yes. Any number that can be dialed works: mobile, landline or a toll-free number.

What if my number changes?

The number is stored inside the code, so you need a new code. If you expect it to change, consider a code that links to a web page with your contact details instead.
