A business card that saves itself
A vCard QR code holds your contact details in the vCard format, the same format phones and email programs use to exchange contacts. Scan it, tap "Create new contact", done: no typos in email addresses, no lost paper cards.
Popular places to use one:
- On the back of business cards, next to your printed details.
- On a conference badge, stand or slide at the end of a talk.
- In an email signature or on a portfolio, for people reading on another device.
Keep it scannable
- Fewer fields, simpler code. On a small card, name, phone, email and website are usually enough.
- Write phone numbers in international format, like +44 20 1234 5678, so they work abroad.
- Print it at least 2.5 cm (1 inch) wide on business cards; a full vCard needs the room.
- Download SVG for print designs, so the code stays sharp at any size.
What's inside the code
QRCraftr writes a standard vCard 3.0 with only the fields you fill in. Nothing links back to QRCraftr and nothing is tracked. Your details are simply stored in the pattern of squares.

What is a vCard QR code?
It is a QR code that contains a digital business card in the vCard format. When someone scans it, their phone shows your details with an option to add you to their contacts, so they don't have to type anything.
Which phones can read it?
The camera app on iPhones and most Android phones recognises vCard codes and offers to save the contact. On older phones a free QR scanner app does the same.
Why does the code get more complex as I add fields?
All the details are stored in the code itself, so more text means more squares. For a code printed small, such as on a business card, stick to your name, phone, email and website.
Can I update the details later?
Not in a printed code, because the details are inside it. If your details change often, put a link to an online profile or your website in a regular QR code instead, and keep that page up to date.
Are my contact details stored?
No. The code is generated in your browser and your details are never sent to a server or saved.
